great minds!

when we all came out dressed and ready for church on sunday
i noticed a picture perfect moment.
blue was the color of choice for everyone's sunday best
and best part was it all went unplanned.
great minds truly do think alike.
the boys moaned and whined about having to partake in the photo shoot
but i'm so glad we insisted they hold off from changing into their comfies
because look at the gems we captured!
of course christopher threw the biggest fit about having
to sit with his niece and smile.
such a miserable task. . . i know.
but after all of his complaining they recieved the best picture of the day award.
see proof below.
love her little grin.
now boys, wouldn't you say this was well worth our time?
i think so too.

thank you!

andy took a few days off here recently and we had a nice little staycation.
it was four days of perfection.
we figured it was not worth the money to actually go anywhere and have to tiptoe around a sleeping baby and be in by 8,
so we lived it up in the comfort of our own home. . .
best decision we've ever made.
we talked the entire time about how we could figure out a way for him
to get to stay home with us. . .
we have yet to come up with anything.
so back to work he went monday morning and we were sad to see him go.
it's just so nice to have a another buddy 24/7.
for months andy has been wanting to do something for
our troops and our staycation was the perfect time to do just that!
if you live in the area or your local airport welcomes troops home you should
totally look up how to be a part of it.
it was the sweetest two hours of our entire staycation.
dfw airport puts on nothing short of a welcome home parade
everyday for troops returning home for a little r&r.
they ask everyone to dress in patriotic colors, love that, and come with signs and flags, a smile and a handshake.
we are expert at smiles and handshakes so we loaded up!
the very best part was seeing families welcoming home their daddies, talk about emotional.
i cannot imagine.
as we were leaving i heard a troop tell another man,
while he was hugging his baby, that he left when his son had just turned two months old.
so glad that daddy is home to enjoy his baby, bless him.
another thing that tugged at my heart was how the troops thanked us for coming out to welcome them home.
are you kidding?!?
i wish i could be there everyday and
i wish we could have done so much more than just stand there, smile
and shake their hand.
we are grateful for what you do for our country.
my mom subscribed to this grown up magazine for me.
thanks mom!
it was perfect that the first issue arrived on our staycation because
i got to flip through the entire thing in one sitting.
isn't looking at magazines so very staycation-y?
i thought so.
can't wait for next months.
we enjoyed lunches together at places better than our kitchen table. . .
that only knows how to serve sandwich
after sandwich
for lunch during any ole normal week.
staycations deserve lunch at mi chulah and yogurt for dessert.
staycations are the best.
andy and i took a little time to ourselves one afternoon and
spent some time in southlake at the town center.
we picked these up for the bug girl, i love them and am a teeny bit envious.
wish they had some for mama.
such cutie staycation shoes!
she was pleased with her treat.
***
all in all, staycation gets 10 stars.
hoping for another staycatoin on down the road!
maybe we've started a new jeffrey tradition.

on the move!

our lives are forever changed by this little darling once again.
she's on the move and there ain't no stopping her!
she's been moving around for about a month now but just last week really started exploring.
it's the best thing to watch and you can just tell that she feels so proud!
one of my favorite mama moments yet:
i had left to run an errand and she and andy stayed home,
walked in the door, she spotted me and took off towards me, so excited to see me
and couldn't get to me fast enough.
melt my heart!
oh the places you'll go sweetest love!

mother's day.

there is nothing like being a mother.
it is so surreal.
so sweet.
so unbelievable.
this mother's day was so perfect because of this little girl
who i am beyond blessed to 'mother'.
i know this post is so late.
story of our lives.
i was thinking on mother's day as my parents drove
away from us in the chapp's parking lot,
how incredibly blessed i am to be a mother and to have a mother
that i whole heartedly adore and cherish.

mother's day can be such a joyful day,
 this i always knew,
but it took being a mother to realize that it can
also be a day that brings alot of pain and sadness.
i feel so blessed to have a mom,
to enjoy every second i get with her
and to be a mom enjoynig every second i get
with my little girl.
i know i have much to praise and thank the Lord for.
i am so thankful.
my heart aches for anyone that felt any sadness this mother's day.
may you forever feel the love and peace of our Lord.
three generations of one heck of a mother-daughter duo.
love these two girls more than a milion words.

just for abby.

i'm sorry to have become such a blogger slacker.
if my dvr is not an excuse then i have no good one.
i'm really hoping to become more motivated and bring y'all some good reading material.
but maybe don't hold your breath.
so june loves to swing.
it's her very most favorite outside activity.
when she sees that we are headed to the back door she gets so excited
and starts kicking her little legs so fast.
it's pretty sweet, i'm so glad she likes to be outside.
she is loving sitting in a shopping cart too.
much better than being cooped up in her carseat. . .
she thinks it's so nice to be out in the open for everyone to ooh and aaah over her.
for some reason our little outings take a little bit longer these days,
hmmm.
:)
we have been introduced to the world of snacks.
baby mum-mums top the list of favorites and she feels
like such a big girl feeding them to herself.
she is getting so big!
she's gone for her first ride on daddy's shoulders,
loved it of course,
and pulled his hair the whole time.
daddy didn't mind.
we went on a three mile walk the other day with laci and jackson,
more exercise than mama has gotten since before i was pregnant.
we were both worn out and felt so accomplished.
i'm so lame for being worn out after three miles of walking, i know.
this little romper was a 'too good to be true' find at target that we just had to have.
too cute right!
we also made our way to the zoo with some new friends.
poor sophie broke her neck on this trip.
when am i going to get my act together?
i was thirty minutes late, planned everything perfectly to be there on time
and was doing so good until i got lost.
i called andy immediately, told him my whereabouts and he asked the most profound question. . .
"do you have your gps plugged in?"
well no.
problem solved.
my mom gave me this nifty little container last mother's day.
i loved it then and love it even more now,
thought it was so practical. . . it has about five other
little compartments that snap onto the bottom of this one.
really should be a must-have for any mom because it packs brillantly into our diaper bag.
anyways, i love june's yogurt melts.
always have.
my sister in law becky used to have these for eden when she was tiny like june.
anytime we were with them andy and i would sneak a few for ourselves.
we both really loved them so much that becky got us some for our honeymoon goodie bag.
we ate the entire bag on the planeride to mexico and were both so sick to our stomachs.
i handed him one the other day and it triggered some unhappy memories for him.
hasn't phased me a bit, bought two more bags today in fact.
they are delish to me and june agrees.
afterall, her opinion is the only one that matters.
for a couple days last week this was the only way
june would sleep during her naps.
she would nuzzle her way over there and fall asleep.
it was so cute and adorably weird.
whatever works.
seriously, would anyone have any pictures
these days without their camera phones?
it's ridiculously wonderful and convienent.
i love my tiny family.
you have to look very, very hard to see it but she woke up from her nap
the other day with the first sight of bed head.
i about died.
i wish she woke up from every nap with bedhead.
i love it!
you can kinda see it a little better in this picture.
so cute, a sign of good rest if you ask me.
my brother gave her this little talking puppy for christmas.
she was way too young for it then, but man alive has she made up for lost time.
we've had it out for a while for them to get acquainted
but lately she has been absolutely crazy about her friend.
she smiles and laughs and no joke. . . tackles him.
they are the best of friends, so sweet.
and does this not scream sixteen year old to you?
picking and choosing her own fun.
i'm crying just looking at this picture.
please stop growing,
 live with us forever
and always let me hug and kiss you.
always.

let love rule here.

just a few things i want to make sure are not forgotten.
we were anxiously awaiting andy's arrival after work one evening and
with no tricks left in my bag,
i popped her on the window sill and she fell in love all over again with herself.
she really was so cute to watch as she discovered
her little friend in the window.
my word, i love her!

she is loving everything that i am putting in her mouth lately.
i knew this day would come and am thrilled that
this girl is as in love with food as her parents are.
the apple doesn't fall from the tree!
we celebrated baby jackson's first birthday as a galaxy intramural team.
the invitation called for guests to arrive in their sports gear
so let's make certain that we only chose to be a G1 team because we were at
ryan newhouse's, moonie of all moonies.
who are we kidding. . . they are all still living the dream.
love those boys.
sweetest little water bug.
we're pushing our limits in the sink tub, worked like a charm for her tiny days
but with each passing minute she grows a wee bit more and it's
just a short matter of time before we graduate to the actual bathtub.
i can already feel my back hurting. . .

she's wearing real sandals.
how did that happen that she can wear like pretty much real shoes?
don't you see the tread on the bottom. . .
that means they're real shoes.
goodness gracious,
stop clocks,
just stop it.
i don't know if we can officially proclaim that she is crawling but
we know for sure she is covering some major ground.
she's mastered the tiny army crawl now it's just a matter of getting
those sweet arms to move in time with her little legs.
heaven help us!
self explanatory,
 kiss her all day.
every day.
during our visit in abilene julia came over to see us and
get a crash course on june's ride.
she is so thoughtful,
all of the time,
and brought june the sweetest easter treats.
thank you aunt julia for always thinking of me,
you're the best of the best.

we sure do love our cousins pearce and noah, especially
when they are willing to ride around the streets in june's wagon.
these kids all love each other!

everyone got swings for their back patios for the little bug.
she obviously isn't complaining about it!
andy is thinking about sending this picture into 'little tikes'
for them to use as their advertisement.
try and tell me she won't help these puppies fly off the shelves.
thought so.
i just love this guy so much.
seriously, don't know how i could make it without him.
thankful for all that he is.
undeniably, the total package.
