brookie's big day!

if so, i am about to break it. 

we also got to celebrate abby's birthday last week with a surprise dinner, cake and ice cream sundae fest!

it was a big night and she was such a sweet girl to surprise and celebrate.

ryan was responsible for getting her to copper creek for dinner.  we dined on delicious food but tried not to get too stuffed (impossible!) because we had these decadents awaiting us. . .

ashley had come up with all of these great ideas for this great night.  when she brought me in on the plan i was thrilled to jump on the train of party planning.  hosting is my favorite thing to ever do!

we had a week full of special events. 

 i love special events but it makes for one very busy week. 

so needless to say, i am very much looking forward to this week of semi- relaxing. 

christopher's birthday was last week and woo-hoo we had a fun day celebrating him!

i've said this before but i love funfetti cake. 

my mom has made this for us for every birthday i can remember.  she always jokes about how she feels bad for making us a cake from a box but we are never sad about it. . . always glad!

christopher racked it in on his 22nd year of life and it made for such a fun night!

my parents got him a new laptop that he was pumped about.

 he better be!

andy and i just got him a measley golf shirt and movie passes for he and shelby. 

 no competeing with the mac.

today is my mom's birthday!

i love my mom so much and cannot imagine how different my life would be without her.  she is so fun, so caring and so stylish.  she is a prayer warrior, a devoted wife, a loving mom, and a clean freak! i promise you there is not one speck of dust in her house EVER. her home is beautiful and spotless. she is so organized and so on-top of things. . . i want to be just like her.  she instilled in us at a young age the importance of high standards. she loves us so much and we know that every decision she has ever made had us and the Lord at the center of it.  i love knowing that when tough things in life come up that i know verbatim what her words of wisdom will be : "pray about it, i'm praying for you and the Lord has a plan." 

i love that my mom and i have the exact same taste.  i guarantee you anything she loves i will love it too.  this can sometimes make things kinda tricky when we are shopping together, which we do often, and there is only one of a treasured find. 

i love knowing that i can talk to my mom about anything.  i also love knowing that she will always shoot me straight.  she is a perfect sound board for me. 

i am so excited about being a mom because of my mom. she has made motherhood seem so great!

i love you mom.  thank you so much for everything that you have ever done for me.  you are dearly loved and deeply treasured.  i thank the Lord for you everyday. i am so thankful that you are my mom.

i love this brother of mine.  he has made being a big sister so fun and so sweet. i have never experienced feelings of such pride and protectiveness as i do with christopher. 

sometimes it can be a bit over the top. 

there are a few things that to a stranger might make them wonder if we are even related. 

christopher has super dark hair and skin and can tan within five minutes of being in the sun.  he looks super athletic when he runs and if there are lessons in running i need them. 

but once you get to know us i think you would say we are for sure bro and sis. 

christopher is so goofy and so am i.  we can both dance like fools.  we both share the same inside jokes about my dad. . . 'can i have a small plate please', 'who ordered the dilla plate', 'b-e-a-r-s', etc. we both have big booty's.  we both really love traditions.  we both really love candy and sno-cones. we both used to be obsessed with jessica simpson and nick lachey's newlyweds.  we have the same manners.  we both inherited the neat freak gene from our mom. we have the same nose and mouth. the list goes on and on.

i love you chrstopher.  happy birthday to you! if i was put in a room with all the brothers in the world, i would choose you as mine every single time.

a couple weeks ago we got to celebrate my brother's amazing athletic ability with a special little presentation during a double header at crutcher scott. 

even miles came!

it was a great night.  we sure are proud of you, golden child.
