rare treat at kincaid's.

we had a rare treat a few days ago. . .

dinner with family at kincaid's in our new hometown.

the few days my mom was in town, my aunt jodi and her family were too.

christopher tagged along wtih them and they went to six flags for holiday in the park.

after a day of shopping we met them for dinner at kincaid's and it was so fun to sit at dinner with them. . . something we always used to do in abilene.

i don't know why i don't have a picture of them but i promise they were there.

my brother is not crazy about having a camera in his face but his sister doesn't really care.

sweetest angel.

my go to girl sharon is doing these super cute posts everyday for the new calendar year and i want to try it too! I'm a little behind but oh well. sometimes there are just too many things going on that i cannot for the life of me sit down at my computer and upload a bunch of pictures and then put words to our sweet life so I think this is a brilliant idea for days that are just too full with stuff going on, laundry, errands and feeding my husband and baby girl..

so here's to a picture a day in 2011!

day 1.

first snow

daddy's girl.

i know first hand the sweetness of a daddy and their daughter.

i am so glad that my little daughter has just the best daddy out there.

their little budding relationship is the sweetest thing ever.

we were rushing around trying to get our act together to meet paw and precious for dinner one night and after a day of spit up galore i had andy change june's outfit.

this was not the first time this has happened but it was the first time i let him loose in her closet and this is what he came up with.

ridiculous when put together but we had to take a picture anyways.

she doesn't, i swear.

my heart jumps at the sight of these two.

oh how i hope june stays a daddy's girl forever. . . just like me.

welcome 2011!

we pulled into abilene for my parent's nye bash just in time for a very fun night.

it was just the perfect way to spend our last minutes of 2010.

everyone toasted with our little sprite cups at the stroke of midnight and then the real party started. . .

sweet baby was obviously the life of the party.

my aunt jodi brought all kinds of minute to win it games. . . you know, like the tv show.
it was a blast to watch everyone complete their task and she was genius to think to add this to the itinerary for the night.

we had so much fun we didn't go to bed until 3 am.

wow!

the first challenge involved a kleenex box and jingle bells.

you had to shake shake what your mama gave you until all the jingle bells fell out. . . much harder then it sounds.

the second challenge involved a yummy oreo.

you had to start with the oreo on your forehead and without your hands work it down your face and hopefully into your mouth.

thomas was a champ, the rest of us were awful!

this isn't a minute to win-it game but we had a little impromptu game of telephone.

the original message was 'june is a really cute baby' and once it made it full cirlce it changed to 'chickens are cute and i don't care.'

hysterical.

we had some good luck black eyed peas (gross!) and homemade sopapillas (yum!)

best one yet right?

we smiled from ear to ear with this one.

our julia came to see us on the first day of the new year and it was so wonderful to see her and chat chat chat.

i'm realizing that i looked homless all weekend.

it was another great weekend at home and a perfect way to kick off  our first year with our little one.

back in action.

my mom came to play with us a couple days this past week and it was so great to have her with us.

originally we had planned for her to come to help me put up all of our christmas fun but then we got to thinking that's no fun at all. . . we would much rather be out and about.

and out and about we were.

it's so nice to do things with a helpful buddy. . . carseats and strollers get heavy and nursing in your car in parking lots gets old.

so as always, i loved our time with my mom.

we took june to downtown grapevine and she did not like our adventure at all.

santa brought her a little toy that straps across her carseat handles. . . does that make sense?

probably not.

he brought her this.

i thought it was genuis and was certain that she would love it.

wrong!

i think she liked it for maybe a day or two but quickly became way too overwhelmed by it all and would scream herself silly over it.

so therefore she could not stand sitting in her little turtle shell seat. . . don't blame the poor girl.

  i was talking with my sil becky about how i felt like overnight june started having a very strong opinion about her carseat and it clicked. . . my angel has been scared to death.

so goodbye little scary frog we'll see you when we're a wee bit older.

tacky tacky christmas!

our family did something a little different this year on christams day.
since most of us are grown ups now gifts and santa have become less of a big deal at my grandma's.
so my uncle eddie had the most awesome idea for us to drag out our most awful and tacky christmas gear and put on a little style show.
it was hilarious.
absolutely hilarious.
we are all already working on our tackiness for next year.
so check us out and try not to be so jealous of our really cute christmas duds.
